Porthminster Beach Cafe

After a morning of good walking along the coast path there was no debate about going in to the Porthminster Beach Cafe.

It is set in a lovely location on the beach with both indoor and outside seating. Outside it covered and heated, although we sat just outside the heated area so that we had the best view over the beach.

The menu was good with plenty of temptation to replenish the energy levels but we both plumped for fish and chips. Well we did have a view over the beach so it had to be done.

The surprise was when the fish and chips arrived, very nicely presented with 2 pieces of fish and a good portion of chips. The surprise, and it was a good one, was that there was some roast garlic and sosme rosemary with the chips and easting that added a nice little twist, along with the white balsamic vinegar on the side, instead of the traditional malt vinegar. I have never been a fan of vinegar on my chips so this made it is a nice twist and worked really well.

Overall the lunch was lovely and filled us up. The only down side was that it started to get cold, but what do you expect in March!

I would have no hesitation on going back next time I am in St Ives
